GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Manual Tester is responsible creating and executing test scripts for medium to large cross functional, IT testing projects e.g. system, functional, integration, regression. Cycle of testing effort applies to all assigned applications (e.g. Retail, SAP, Portal, etc.) with responsibility for requirement understanding, test scenario and script creation, test execution, defect creation and retest, and validation of CSC interfaces (e.g. SAP, Central Lab, Payroll, Sales Audit, EyeMed etc.) related to integration test requirements.
The incumbent is accountable for integrating with other remote members of assigned project team members e.g. Business Analyst, Developer, Test Lead, and Manual and Automated Testers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Integration with offshore and onshore cross functional test team
-Performing test activities in compliance with RCC test strategy, process and methodology
-Participate in testing efforts for assigned projects to meet committed SLAs include delivery dates & quality
-Understand test objectives as communicated by Test Lead, execute and deliver test deliverables based on those objectives
-Create test scenarios and scripts to address new system functionality and business requirement expectations in align with RCC test management and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
-Manage test activities in Quality Center test tool to support New Functionality and Regression testing to measure completeness related to timeline and test quality
-Write, monitor, and retest defect fixes as found and delivered in code being tested for a project.
-Maintain and organize test evidence in QC according to testing process
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
-Understanding and experience of test methodology and the SDLC
-Experience in HP QA product - Quality Center
-Solid test writing skills, with ability to interpret requirements and convert to test scenario and test scripts in well written business English e.g. interpretation of business and technical requirements, test script writing and execution/reporting of test scripts
-Proven record of high performance in problem solving, collaborating and a drive for results
-Accomplished communication skills encompassing inter-personal communications, persuasion and influencing using business terminology
-Customer service oriented
DESIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
-Knowledge and/or experience with SAP or POS (Point of Sale) Retail Systems
-Knowledge with SQL/PSQL database queries is a plus
-Knowledge of any program language is a plus
EDUCATION:
-Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
-Fluent with business level English both orally and written
