The office of University Communications manages and orchestrates all external and internal communications aimed at raising NYU Shanghai’s reputation and creating a favorable point of view among the university’s key constituencies for its mission of education, research and engagement.
This position will be mainly responsible for assisting with daily updates and content creation for Chinese social media (WeChat and Weibo).
Key responsibilities:
● Using WeChat formatting tools such as Xiumi to present content in a well structured, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing way.
● Using photos and other media to enhance storytelling.
● Generating fun and original Chinese content.
● Conducting quick interviews with NYU Shanghai students, professors, or staff to draft content for social media.
● Photographing the ins and outs of life at NYU Shanghai for social media.
● Keep up to date on current social media practices, brainstorming new ideas and generating new leads.
● Other administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
● Excellent Chinese writing skills. Aware of social media trends.
● Candidates with skills in photography, photo-editing, and video-editing preferred.
● A commitment of at least 3 days/week, 8 hours/day for at least 3 months.
