Position Summary
Students will work with Dr. David Hunsaker (PhD, University of Utah) and Dr. Jeff Lee (DBA, Harvard Business School) as a Center for Business Education and Research (CBER) Intern. Students will work on projects about managerial and consumer psychology. This opportunity is perfect for students who want to learn about applied academic research for business topics.
We welcome applications from students from several majors, including: statistics, psychology, sociology, business, marketing or management. We also welcome applications from both graduate (PhD, Masters) and undergraduate students.
We prefer students with some experience in survey design and execution, as well data analysis (e.g. via Excel and SPSS). Some background in statistics (e.g. ANOVA, t-tests, multivariate regression analysis) would be a plus.
Our project findings will be published in management journals. This will benefit students who are interested in learning more about applied academic research for marketing and management.
Qualification
Required Meetings
- Availability from September 24 to December 21 to work for around 10 hours per week. We would consider off-campus work arrangements depending on the needs of the intern, though we expect occasional meetings on the NYUSH campus as well. This internship is renewable beyond December depending on the performance of the candidate.
Required Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably majoring in statistics, psychology, sociology, business, management or marketing.
- Previous experience with survey design, execution, data analysis and dataset management preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Interest in marketing and management psychology preferred- Ability to communicate and work in English
