Position Summary
Intern for the Center for Global Asia, Spring and Summer 2020. The intern will report to Professor Tansen Sen, the director of the Center.

Responsibilities

The Center for Global Asia (CGA) at NYU Shanghai serves as the hub within the NYU Global
Network University system to promote the study of Asian interactions and comparisons, both
historical and contemporary. CGA will continue to sponsor a range of talks, workshops and
special events jointly with local and international partner institutions. The center also
contributes to several database projects and academic publications. 

The intern will assist CGA staff with the events and research projects. Assigned tasks include but could not limited to:

Chinese–English translation, Chinese–Pinyin transcription.

Database entry and maintenance.

Paperwork (documents, flyers, badges, handouts, etc.)

Administrative and logistic tasks during the events.

Qualifications

Required Education

Undergraduate student at any level (Non-Chinese passport holders must have a valid student visa and residence permit with at least 3-month validity to be eligible for the internship)

Required Experience

Previous administrative and event-support experience in multinational settings preferred.

Previous Chinese–English translation experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Fluent in English and Chinese.

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to Details.
