I. Background Information
Position Title: Intern- Advanced Materials Research
Function/Department: General Motors R&D, China Science Lab
Location: Shanghai, China
II. Purpose
The intern of materials research will be mainly responsible for conducting literature survey and project execution to support researchers.
III. Areas of Responsibility
• Work with researchers and conduct technical experiments with minimum supervision;
• Conduct literature survey on automobile Lightweighting technology under the guidance of researchers;
• Write timely, high-quality experiment reports.
Knowledge:
· Demonstrated knowledge in materials science, including metallurgy, mechanical property test, optical and scanning electron microscopy;
Skills:
· High-quality metallography sample preparation;
· Efficient literature survey capability;
· Hands-on operation experience with SEM is preferred;
· Hands-on operation experience with tensile tester is preferred.
Experience/Education:
· Bachelor degree or above in materials engineering or related field;
· Experience with Mg or Al alloy relevant research would be preferred;
Competencies:
· Excellent oral and written communication skills in Mandarin and English;
· Ability to work for more than 3 months in China Science Lab.
