Position Summary

Full-time Intern for the Center for Global Asia, Mid-May to 23 August, 2018. The intern will report to the director of the Center.

Responsibilities

The Center for Global Asia (CGA) at NYU Shanghai serves as the hub within the NYU Global Network University system to promote the study of Asian interactions and comparisons, both historical and contemporary. CGA and the Center for Interdisciplinary Area Studies (ZIRS) at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany, collaboratively offer a series of three interconnected Summer Schools on the topic of “The Indian Ocean World and Eurasian Connections.” The third Summer School in 2018 will take place in Shanghai, July 30-August 12, 2018.

The intern will help the Center staff with the activities related to CGA summer school. This includes:

·         Paperwork (documents, flyers, badges, handout, etc.) before the summer school

·         Administrative and logistic tasks during the summer school

·         Other duties as assigned

Qualification

·         Required Education

Undergraduate student at any level

·         Required Experience

Previous administrative and event-support experience in multinational settings preferred

·         Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

         1.   Fluent in English

         2.   Strong communicational and interpersonal skills

         3.   PowerPoint, Word, Excel
