Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a Data Scientist intern to perform data extraction and cleansing, statistical analysis and data modeling work. This is an exciting position, which provides the candidate an opportunity to impact real marketing business, using big data processing techniques and statistical analysis methodologies.

• Research, design and develop metrics for search performance evaluation and user behavior modeling.

• Study the interaction among different types of metrics (financial, behavioral, and judgmental) by conducting correlation, regression and other data mining effort.

• Perform on-demand metrics calculation and analysis work.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or above) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or equivalent

• Familiar with R, SQL and Java. Scala is optional but a big plus.

• Basic knowledge about Linux and Git.

• Experience in machine learning, data mining or statistical analysis is preferred, with detailed understanding of descriptive statistics, regression, time-series, hypothesis testing, etc.

• Experience in Hadoop/Spark System is optional but a big plus.

• Attention to detail and data accuracy.

• Good communications skills, both verbal and written in English and Chinese

• Be able to work at least 4 days per week. Long term internship with eBay, at least 6 months.
