About the company

The European Union Chamber of Commerce in China was founded in 2000 by 51 member companies that shared a goal of establishing a common voice for the European businesses operating in China. It is a members-driven, non-profit, fee-based organization with a core structure of over 25 working groups and forums representing European business in China.

The European Chamber now has more than 1700 members in 7 chapters operating in 9 cities: Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, South China (Guangzhou and Shenzhen), Southwest China (Chengdu and Chongqing), and Tianjin.

The Chamber is recognised as the official voice of European business in China.

Job description

- Events: Assist in all stages of event planning and execution, encompassing small to large-scale seminars, hybrid events, conferences, training courses, as well as social and sports events;

- Pre-Event Preparation: Assist with researching topics and speakers, drafting proposals, promoting the event, and handling logistical arrangements;

- On-Site Event Assistance: registration, welcoming, and logistics support; 

- Post-Event Support: Assist with preparing event reports and summaries, compiling photo galleries, and updating the attendee list;

- Membership: Support membership renewal campaigns -draft payment notices and contracts, and update and maintain database and distribution lists;

- Marketing: Contribute to the layout and content creation for WeChat and newsletters;

- Other duties as required by the Events/Marketing Managers.

Skills & experience

- Excellent command of spoken and written English;

- Students majoring in English and European Languages, Business, Marketing, Communications, International Business, International Relations preferred;

- Ability to communicate effectively with persons inside and outside of the organisation;

- Ability to multi task, plan, organise and prioritise work independently;

- Initiative driven by passion, resilient, and detail-oriented;

- Serve more than 3 months, ideally 6 months, and 5 days a week in person
